2017 Bridal Trends in Wonderland

Everyday we walk into Wonderland, we still have to pinch one another and remind ourselves that we get to work with you beautiful brides day in and day out. As we welcome a new year, we also welcome new wedding trends! Not only do we get to dress brides everyday, but we also have the opportunity to connect with some of the most prominent wedding gurus in the industry. That being said, it wouldn’t be right if we didn’t share some of our secret knowledge when it comes to the wedding trends you should expect to see in 2017.

Let’s start with what we know best, wedding dresses! Here are some insights on what you can expect next year in the ever-changing world of wedding trends.

Wedding Gowns

Off-the-Shoulder dresses will continue to turn heads in 2017, while deep plunging necklines will be the sexy talk of the town. What we’re really seeing is an abundance of dresses with sleeves. Yes ladies, sleeves! We know this is something a lot of you brides are happy about, so we are welcoming the year with more long sleeve dresses than you have ever seen before in Wonderland. Don’t think you can rock long sleeves in the South Florida heat? White is out! Now more than ever, we are seeing brides sway from the traditional white or even ivory colored dresses to champagne, grey, blush and colored wedding dresses.  

Play with Accessories

It’s time to bring in the big guns, because this is the year for big bold accessories. Every bridal show we attended, we couldn’t help but notice the amount of hair accessories and earrings taking over the runways. Flower crowns and hair jewelry will also be making their way into 2017 weddings as well.

Bridesmaids

Gone are the days of the stuffy bridesmaid dresses. 2017 brides want their girls to look and feel flawless as they stand next to her on her wedding day. Two piece dresses are big in the bridal world, but who says the bride is the only one who can have all the fun? Anything goes with a two piece bridesmaid dress. Long skirts, short skirts, midi skirts, cami tops, long sleeves, and crop tops, you can do it all.

 

Mismatching bridesmaid dresses are here to stay. Designers are well aware of the demand of mismatching (but not so mis-matchy) bridesmaid dresses. In Wonderland, we’re here to assist you in your overall vision of your wedding theme and accompanying dresses.

Back detail is something brides are paying more attention to this year. This is a great way to make a simple dress pop with cutouts, pretty fabrics, bows and unusual cuts.

The 2017 bride is getting edgier and edgier with mixed metallics, belts, silk and the color black.

This year, it’s all about the Maid of Honor having her moment. We’re seeing the MOH in a single printed dress or full sequin, while the rest of the bridesmaids match in something different.
