When and how did you meet?

Joey and I meet in fall of 2011; while I was in my senior year of high school, and he had just began college. We met through mutual friends that lived in the neighborhood where I grew up. We always lived fairly close to each other, and had mutual friends our whole lives… yet never previously met. We were each other’s first relationship. He was my first boyfriend, and I his first girlfriend. Before we even went on our first date, he visited my parents’ house to ask for their permission to take me out.

How long did you date before he popped the question?

We began dating while I was still in high school (11/15/2011), so we decided to wait a little while before marriage. He proposed 01/31/2016, over 4 years.

How did he propose?

Joey took me to watch my first ever Broadway Musical. After the musical, he took me for a romantic walk on the beach. While we were at the beach, simply and intimately he got on one knee and “popped the question.” My best friend was hiding behind a lifeguard stand and was able to capture the whole thing. My best friend then crowned me with a bright pink crown, and a “Bride to be” sash. When I arrived home, all of our close family and friends were waiting with a perfect surprise engagement party Joey had planned.

Where were you married and how did you pick the place?

We got married at a modest and cozy ranch in the Ft Myers area. We picked this location because we wanted a wedding that was outdoors and a little further away from our homes. Sort of a like a “destination wedding.”

What theme and/or colors have you chosen for your wedding and why?

Our theme colors were pretty much a mix of all the fall colors. Burgundy, Sunflower Yellow, Red, Orange, and even Green. We mixed many different colors.

Where did you go for your honeymoon?

Cancun, Mexico.

Why did you choose Wonderland Bridal for your dream dress?

My mom shops at Sally’s Beauty Supply often to purchase supplies for work. When Wonderland opened up right next door to Sally’s, my mother and I used to joke that this would be the store where I would purchase my wedding dress! Mostly because inside it looked like a fairytale and true, brides dream. Every time we passed by the store, I would fall in love with a new dress at the window. So naturally, Wonderland Bridal was the first boutique I visited. The second dress I tried on was the ONE!

Share your experience about your time with Wonderland Bridal.

My experience at Wonderland Bridal was amazing! My bridal party and I had a scheduled time reserved for my shopping. During this time, Alison and Patty were both extremely attentive, kind and friendly. Every step of the way they sent me reminders for my fittings, took care of my payments and would call to check in on anything else I may have needed. These girls are GREAT!! I have and will continue to recommend Wonderland Bridal.

What was the best part of your wedding day?

The Best Part of my wedding day was the Ceremony and Unity Cross. This was the time in which I realized that Joey and I were now, One under God. That this unbelievably handsome, kind, God-fearing man was really the person the Lord separated just for me.

Any advice to future couples currently planning a wedding?

Enjoy Every Minute!

Love Story: Monica & Jacob

We sat down with another beautiful Wonderland bride to get her love story. Meet Monica & Jacob, who were married October 1, 2016.

When and how did you meet?

Jacob and I met July 4th Weekend in 2015 at the wedding of two of our best friends.  I was a bridesmaid and Jacob was a groomsmen AND we were paired together to walk down the aisle. Nothing happened between us that weekend, but my friend Sarah aka the bride was plotting behind the scenes as she knew Jacob would be moving to Miami that fall where I was living at the time. Once Jacob was settled, he asked me to dinner and we have never spent more than a few days apart since then.

How long did you date before he popped the question?

We dated for about 5 months.

How did he propose?

On Friday after work, I came home to series of clues which led me to Jacob on Miami Beach with ring in hand and down on one knee. Of course, I said YES! We went to dinner afterwards and didn’t tell anyone we were engaged until we finished dinner.  We wanted those few moments of being the only two knowing that we were going to be together forever.

Where were you married and how did you pick the place?

We were married at the Curtiss Mansion in Miami Springs, FL.  We knew we wanted a unique venue where we could have the ceremony and reception in the same place.  The mansion offered us many different spaces that could use to complete the vision we had for our wedding day. It is a beautiful venue and the events coordinator, Sheri, was amazing to work with.

What theme and/or colors have you chosen for your wedding and why?

Our wedding was Navy, Gold, and Blush Pink.  Navy is Jacob’s favorite color and pink is mine. We also wanted a neutral color to tie it all together which is where the color Gold came in.

Where did you go for your honeymoon?

Before we got engaged, Jacob took a job in Washington, DC.  So, in addition to getting married last fall, we also moved to another city and both started new jobs. Our dream honeymoon to Europe has not happened yet due to our move, but we have been taking “mini-moons” instead! We spent a long weekend in NYC right after the wedding and recently spent President’s Day Weekend in Austin, Texas!

Why did you choose Wonderland Bridal for your dream dress?

My sister, Larissa, choose Wonderland Bridal for me as she had been in a wedding that used the shop.  She raved about the personalized experience I would get and that their selection of dresses wouldn’t be matched by any other store.

Share your experience about your time with Wonderland Bridal.

It. Was. AMAZING! First, we (myself, mom, and sisters) were the only people in the store for my appointment. I felt very relaxed and attended to while picking dresses.  Patti and Alicyn were not only knowledgeable, but friendly, kind, and calming during my appointment.  I felt as if they were two friends helping me pick the wedding dress of my dreams. We had many other appointments scheduled that day, but Wonderland was our first and last!

What was the best part of your wedding day?

Seeing my future husband waiting for me at the end of the aisle.

Any advice to future couples currently planning a wedding?

My advice would be to not get too caught up in the tiny details of the day.  There are things that will go wrong.  There are things that will turn out better than you expected.  Just keep in mind throughout the process that at the end of the day the most important detail is that you are MARRIED to your best friend and as long as that happens, nothing else matters.

During the three days of the trunk show, Wonderland brides had the opportunity to receive complimentary wedding hair and makeup trials with our trusted makeup artist, GEMakeup Artistry. Gizella is our “in-house” hair and makeup artist and joins us for all our VIP appointments on Sundays, so brides are able to see exactly what they will look like from head-to-toe on their special day as they try on dresses.

Stacey Elaine Photography was there to enhance each experience by networking with brides by sharing her insight on what to expect as far as wedding photos go on their wedding day. We were also so happy to have her there to snap photos of brides as they tried on dresses.

Love Story: Denise & Danny

We sat down with another beautiful Wonderland bride to get her love story. Meet Denise & Danny, who were married November 9th, 2016.

When and how did you meet?

We met when we were 18 at Publix. We both worked there and started off as just friends.

How long did you date before he popped the question?

We dated for 7 years.

How did he propose?

Danny surprised me with a weekend trip to St. Augustine. One of the nights of our trip he took me for a biplane ride at sunset. When we landed, he got down on one knee!

Where were you married and how did you pick the place?

We got married at Stonebridge Golf and Country Club in Boca Raton, Florida. My father in law is the golf course superintendent there and we have always known that this was the place we would get married. The atmosphere was exactly what Danny and I envisioned.

What theme and/or colors have you chosen for your wedding and why?

We had a rustic theme for our wedding. Our colors were light pink, turquoise, and gold. We both love the outdoors. So we had accent of wood located throughout the venue.

Where did you go for your honeymoon?

We have not gone on our honeymoon yet. However, we are going over the summer. We will be in New York for a few days, and then will be flying to Europe to visit Rome, Florence, and London.

Why did you chose Wonderland Bridal for your dream dress?

From the moment I walked into Wonderland Bridal, I knew this was the place I was going to find my dream dress. I loved the atmosphere. I loved that they focused on only one bride at a time, which made me feel special.

Share your experience about your time with Wonderland Bridal.

Alicyn instantly made me feel at ease. I told her what I wanted, she picked a few dresses, and I loved every one she picked out!  At first when she showed me my dress, I was unsure about the color. But the moment I put it on I knew it was the one. Even though I already purchased the dress, Alicyn and Patti allowed me to come in at any time to dry on my dress again.

What was the best part of your wedding day?

Wow… I am not sure if I can point out any specific moment. Our day was PERFECT. It was everything we imagined plus more. Our ceremony was beautiful. Our brother in law married us and made our ceremony so personal and so unique with the vows he created. It made our guests laugh, and even cry, and could have not been done any better. Our reception was perfect as well. We had an amazing DJ (Esteban from Red Elephant Entertainment) who kept our guests dancing the whole night. The venue was beautifully decorated, between the flowers and the decorations I created. Our food and service was amazing; Stonebridge did an amazing job keeping our guests happy. Our photos are everything I imagined plus more. Chris Kruger Photography captured each important moment throughout or wedding. Everything about our wedding was perfect.

Any advice to future couples currently planning a wedding?

We paid for our wedding ourselves and were on a strict budget. Unfortunately, we could not invite everyone we wanted and only invited family and our bridal party (which consisted of our closest friends). On our RSVP card, I wrote how many seats we reserved for each invite sent (for example for an individual invite I wrote we reserved 1 seat for you). This eliminated additional guests that we did not plan for and could not afford. I have a friend who just had her wedding who did not do this. She had about 15 people come to her wedding that she did not originally plan for. Also, spend that extra money on your photographer and trim down on everything else. Your photos are the only thing you have to remember your wedding.

Appointment Only Policy in Wonderland

In today’s Blogging in Wonderland post, we spotlight the importance of making an appointment before shopping for your wedding dress. Every bridal boutique is different, but we pride ourselves on getting to know our brides and providing them with the utmost service and experience the minute they step inside our store. That being said, we have now established an APPOINTMENT ONLY policy in Wonderland.

Why do I have to make an appointment before coming to Wonderland Bridal?

You’ll want to prepare for that special day, not walk in last minute looking to be seen right away. In Wonderland, we value the time we have with our brides and plan something differently for every single one of our appointments. By making an appointment, we can guarantee that you get the most out of your time with us because you’re able to look and try on dresses at your own pace, get to know your bridal stylist and take in every second of your exciting day.

So, I can’t just walk in?

You most certainly can walk in and make an appointment, but if our bridal stylists are assisting other brides and families, we can’t guarantee our undivided attention or the opportunity to look at dresses. Our “appointment only” policy is taken very seriously because we don’t want our bridal stylists feeling rushed or distracted when they’re helping other brides. Not only does it make for a stressful situation all together, but you’re also taking away from the other brides who are there with appointments.

*Please note that Saturday appointments are now booking 2 weeks in advance. If you have a date in mind, please call us to reserve your time slot ASAP.

You can now book appointments online by clicking here. Please note that this is only an appointment request form. If the desired date and time you select is available, you will receive an appointment confirmation email. Otherwise, you will receive an email with alternate options to accommodate your request. VIP Bridal Experience Appointments are held on the first Sunday of the month. See VIP details below.

What is the Bridal VIP Experience?

Wonderland Bridal now offers the ultimate wedding dress shopping experience. During this upgraded appointment, there are absolutely no distractions. The store will close its doors to focus on you and only you! Brides have the opportunity to receive complimentary hair and makeup services by our in-house beauty artist, Gizella, the face behind GEMakeup Artistry, before they start trying on dresses. We do this so you’re able to make a connection with your dream dress and get an idea of exactly how you will look on your wedding day.

You will also receive refreshments, champagne and snacks, along with 10% off all accessory purchases made that day. Upon leaving, you will also receive an adorable Swag Bag filled with goodies and other wedding vendor promos exclusive to Wonderland. VIP appointments are available on the first Sunday of each month between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm (*subject to availability). VIP Appointments can be rescheduled but not cancelled. There is a $150 charge for your VIP BRIDAL EXPERIENCE appointment due at the time of scheduling, but this fee is applied towards the purchase of your wedding dress!

We’ve been getting a lot of questions about our “appointment only” policy and hope to have cleared up any misconceptions you may have had today. Thank you again for your continued loyalty and support for Wonderland Bridal. There is nothing we love more than working with brides and their families!

Valentine’s Day Bride

We have so many brides in Wonderland that have been waiting for this month to arrive! February, the month of love and celebrating everything about it. Like the rest of our holiday months, we’re bringing you insider tips on how to successfully pull off a “holiday themed wedding”.

If you’re planning a Valentine’s Day themed wedding there are many things you will want to incorporate into your special day and many things you will want to leave out. Be mindful that some of your guests may or may not be into Valentine’s Day, so you’ll want to keep it as classy and non-commercial as possible.

Here’s how to do it without the cheese…

Blush is a Must

This goes without saying, but if you’re having a Valentine’s Day themed wedding, you should embrace the blush toned wedding dress trend to your fullest potential. It’s dreamy, feminine, delicate and undeniably bridal. Here are some of our favorite blush colored dresses currently in Wonderland.

That Pop of Red

Replace that “something blue” for a pop of red. Whether your rock a bold lip or wear red bottoms on your feet, you will subtly stay in theme.

Color Inspiration

Keep the reds deep and the pinks blush. If you’re an edgier bride, black is always a ‘go-to’ color option.  This goes for your decor, bridesmaid dresses and everything in between.

Roses, roses and more roses. We love the thought of having your bridesmaids walk down the aisle with a single red rose and having you (the bride) walk down with assorted roses.

Save the Last Dance for me

Yes, your guests are there to celebrate your love, but give everyone the opportunity to celebrate their love too! Honor their memories by asking them to fill in their song on their RSVP card.

Flower Wall

Is it safe to say that flower walls have taken over the role of a photo booth? Keep it romantic and within the theme of your day with a customized flower wall.

Show some love toward your guests by leaving them handwritten messages—love notes at each place setting as a favor. Message in a bottle anyone?

Give ‘em some Sugar

Who doesn’t love to indulge on Valentine’s Day. Keep it decadent and sweet with the cake and desserts you choose.

*Don’t forget that if you purchase a regularly priced wedding dress in the month of February, you will be entered to win your maid/matron of honor dress. A winner will be announced and contacted at the end of the month.

Bridal Testimonial: Lindsay

Thank you to another beautiful Wonderland bride, Lindsay who was married on October 24, 2015 for this heartfelt testimonial. We loved helping you choose your dream dress!

lindsay3 Shopping for a wedding dress is one of the more exciting things a bride gets to do. My bridal experience at Wonderland Bridal Couture is one that I will never forget. My maids of honor and my mom accompanied me to several different bridal stores in search of the dress that gave me that “feeling”. The experience at Wonderland was one of a kind from start to finish. Both Patti and Alicyn made us feel so welcome. We had the entire salon to ourselves to make for an intimate and comfortable event. After giving Patti all the information of what kind of dress I was looking for, she pulled several for me to try and her first choice was THE DRESS. I loved my Stella York dress on the hanger but I fell in love with it the moment I saw myself in the mirror. Patti had everything we needed in terms of a gorgeous belt and unforgettable veil. I was so impressed with how crisp and clean the salon was and really put the focus on the bride and their beautiful selection of gowns that really has something for everyone. My wedding day was absolutely a dream and every time I look back at pictures my first thought is, “I love that dress”. And we got a double thumbs up from the groom as he was speechless when seeing the dress for the first time. My beautiful Stella York dress was everything I needed to make my wedding day complete. It was a little vintage with a lot of sass to go perfect with our theme and that ruffled skirt kept me dancing all night long. Thank you to Wonderland for making my wedding day so special and making me feel like a VIP bride.

This One’s for the Bridesmaids!

Because of the amazing bridesmaid dresses we have been getting in lately, we thought it was only necessary to show our bridesmaids and our bridesmaid collections a little love in today’s post.

At the moment, we carry Sorella Vita and Ashley & Justin bridesmaid collections. We put a lot of time and consideration into the collections we carry in Wonderland. The most important part of our selection process is surrounded around the needs of our brides and their best girls. We have a deep understanding for different body types and style of dresses that our brides are looking for.

Sorella Vita is designed to bring the hottest runway styles and the latest red carpet trends to the aisles of the most fashion-forward weddings. Gone are the days of the “ugly” bridesmaid dresses. They just don’t exist in Wonderland! The best part about carrying Sorella Vita is that they’re well aware of the ever-changing bridal styles in the industry, so they’re constantly updating their collections to meet our needs.

Sorella Vita’s Modern Metallic Collection is one of the most popular dresses we sell in Wonderland. Because of the different “back styles” and sleeves, brides are able to change up their looks to compliment each bridesmaid and take different weather patterns into consideration.

Since burgundy is one of the hottest pantone colors of the year, Sorella Vita has implemented burgundy in their newest collections. You can find burgundy in their satin, chiffon, and luxe double knit collections in Wonderland.

Their newest designer fabrics include “soft english net”, which is a soft lightweight ethereal fabric that moves with ease.

Wedding parties that have bridesmaids with many different body types will want to look at Sorella Vita’s “It’s a Wrap” collection because it’s easy to tie into different, versatile styles for a “custom fit”.

The “Luxe Double Knit” dress is for the more traditional bridesmaid as it provides the perfect amount of stretch and luxurious matte finish giving them a glamorous and comfortable look.

One of the most exciting changes we have going on this year is the arrival of Ashley & Justin. Not only are we carrying these designer wedding dresses, but we are also getting in their fabulous bridesmaid collection. We’re getting so much great feedback about this new collection because of how different and edgy it is. Ashley & Justin provides style options that are untraditional and different, yet classy and trending.

An Ashley & Justin bridesmaid will be seen in Intricate laces and embroideries, whimsical appliques, dazzling details and masterful tailoring are combined to create this thoughtful and feminine collection.

Combining and contrasting a bohemian romance with the chic opulence of red carpet glamour, The Ashley & Justin Bride will relish in the appeal that modern brides of all shapes and sizes can now celebrate their wedding day with this elegant and diverse gown collection that offers a beautiful and romantic vision of their happily ever after!

We get a lot of different questions when it comes to purchasing bridesmaid dresses at Wonderland Bridal and we’re here to put those questions to rest by spotlighting each one of our collections and answering the questions we get the most.

Q: What are you most popular bridesmaid styles?

A: The light and airy chiffon dresses seem to be the most popular choice amongst brides and bridesmaids, however, our Sorella Vita’s Modern Metallic Collection is still a big favorite. Because of the ongoing bridal trends in the industry, the metallic sequins aren’t going anywhere. We are also seeing a lot of mix & matching between chiffon and sequin which looks simply beautiful.

Q: How far in advance do bridesmaids dresses need to be ordered?

A: Standard delivery for bridesmaids dresses is 3 months from order date. We have rush options available for an additional fee. Because most dresses will need some alterations, we recommend ordering your bridesmaids dresses no later than 4 months before the wedding.

Q: Some of my bridesmaids live out of town and cannot make it into Wonderland  for measurements?

A: We have this covered! We understand that some of your besties may live in a different city, state or even country! Because of this, we have a whole system in place to make this process very easy for you. An ‘Out of Town Measurement’ form can be emailed to you, the bride, who in turn will forward it to anyone who needs it. The form is simple and easy to complete. Once we have all forms back, we can recommend a size and place the order.

Q: If you don’t have my size in Wonderland, can I still order my bridesmaid dress through you?

A: Of course! Bridesmaids dress sizes run from 2-30. You can order the dress in your size and we can have it shipped right to your house, or to our store for you to pick up.

Q: If you don’t have the color or style I want for my bridesmaids in the store, can I still order the dresses I want through you?

A: Yes! Again, you can order any style and color of dress you want even if you don’t see it in our store. Sorella Vita has a palette of 32 colors and Ashley & Justin has 50 colors available to chose from.

Whether you’re a bride or bridesmaid, we hope this post gave you insight into the amazing new designers we are currently carrying in Wonderland. Please feel free to call or email us with any additional questions you may have.

Love Story: Tricia & Kenny

We sat down with another beautiful Wonderland bride to get her love story. Meet Tricia & Kenny, who were married July 30th, 2016.

When and how did you meet?

At work.

How long did you date before he popped the question?

We dated for over 2 years.

Where were you married and how did you pick the place?

Parkland Gulf and Country Club. I fell in love with the venue after attending a baby shower there years before. I said after that it would be a dream to have my wedding there.

What theme and/or colors have you chosen for your wedding and why?

I wanted a timeless and elegant look for my wedding, one that anyone would appreciate years in the future. My colors were blush pink and champagne gold. I chose these colors because in my opinion the worked well together and would also suit the venue  for the wedding ceremony and reception.

Where did you go for your honeymoon?

We went to Las Vegas and stayed at the Aria.

Why did you chose Wonderland Bridal for your dream dress?

I purchased my cake from Robbie’s Custom Cakes and she asked me if  I had already purchased my dress. At the time I had not done so as yet, so she referred me to Wonderland. She got me excited about the personalized service, the staff and the great selections to choose from. I therefore decided to give them a shot.

Share your experience about your time with Wonderland Bridal.

The ladies were awesome! I would recommend any bride to purchase their dress there. I felt connected to the staff, and the service was outstanding.

What was the best part of your wedding day?

The best part of my wedding day was when my now husband gave his speech. It was heart felt and genuine. I was reminded of how much Kenny loved me and how much we were meant to be together. He was creative, funny, and in the end just his crazy self.
